Proscenium is a performing groups program for ages 4-18. Performers sing while performing choreography. A special emphasis is placed on developing singing, dancing and acting skills. Opportunities to perform solos are given to everyone in the group. Groups utilize high quality sound during performance. Each performer wears a headset microphone so they are sure to be heard. Class sizes are limited to no more than eleven students. Young students commit to participate on a semester basis. Older students make a year commitment to ensure stability in choreography. Numbers performed range from musical theatre to modern pop. Older students have the opportunity to participate in educational ‘tours’ where students travel to performing centers to be inspired and work on their craft. They do this by seeing shows and taking classes from industry professionals in singing, dancing and acting. Past locations have included New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
